Star Wars: The Old Republic is an online multiplayer game where players can play as their favourite Star Wars character and choose their own adventure. The new 7.0 Legacy of the Sith update gives players an option to choose a second combat style for their characters.
This guide will tell you how to change your combat style in the game.
SWTOR: How To Change Combat Styles
There are different types of combat classes available in SWTOR and these classes will determine the abilities and weapons your character will have access to.
With the new 7.0 update, players will enable to add a second combat style for their character and switch between them when they are not actively involved in combat.
This second combat style will be unlocked at the end of Chapter 3 of the origin story where you will be given a mission to select your second combat style.
The name of the mission will be either “Training in the Force” or “Training and Skills” depending on whether you are a force or tech user.
A short cutscene will play where you will be given an overview of all the available combat styles.
You can then select the combat of your choice or take a look at the other styles available.
After you have decided on your combat style, a dialogue box will appear asking you to confirm your choice since it is permanent and cannot be reversed later.
Now go into the combat proficiencies section from the top menu and you can see all the combat styles available for your character.
You can now freely switch between your combat styles anytime as long as you are not engaged in combat.
Just click on accept when the dialogue box appears and you are good to go.
The game also now gives you multiple load-out options so you can create different types of loadouts with the combat style of your choice.
Do note that the choice of selecting a second combat style is currently only available to players who have purchased a subscription to the game.
In case your subscription expires after you have made the choice then your combat style will be locked to the one that was previously active during the subscription.
Sadly, the developers have no plans to bring this second combat style choice to free-to-play players.
That’s it, now go ahead and select the combat style of your choice in the game!
