February 9, 2023
Time to fix this annoying issue and log in to your Steam account!

Steam is one of the most popular gaming clients and players around the world use it daily to enjoy the vast library of games with their friends. However, many users have been facing issues with the service that prevents them from logging into their account.

After entering the password, the error message “The sign-in request has expired” appears and users need to sign into their Steam account again. This usually occurs after entering the two-factor authentication code for your steam account and the only option left is to log in again by pressing the Retry button.

This guide will tell you how to fix  “The sign in request has expired” error on Steam.

Fix Sign In Request Has Expired – Steam

The reason why this error occurs is because of a recent Steam update that has revamped the login-in UI of the client. This update contains a bug that automatically logs out users even when they entered their credentials correctly.

In order to prevent this error from happening in the future, make sure to tick the “Remember me” box when logging in to your Steam account.

This is an issue that many users have been experiencing after the update and hopefully, Valve will patch it in a future update.

To fix this issue, you will need to tick the “Remember me” box and then press the Sign in button. Enter your two-factor authentication code and then wait for the error message to time out. Just wait for a period of 20-30 seconds and you will be then automatically logged in to your Steam account.

If you forget to tick the Remember me option then your account will be logged out of Steam next time and you will face the “Your sign request has expired” message when trying to log back in.

Enabling the option skips the login screen entirely and prevents the error message from appearing.

That’s it, now go ahead and follow these steps to fix the error in Steam!
