Steam Deck File Sharing: How To Share Files

All you need to do is just open your Discover software center and search for a program called Syncthing GTK and install it if you don’t have it already on your PC.

Once you install the program, it will create a new folder by default called “sync” which is completely empty.

Next step is to go to the settings on the top right corner and click Show ID.

At the new window, you will get the QR code and your ID code. Just simply copy the ID code from the top bar.

Once you copy the code, go back to the Steam Deck, and go on the settings menu again and click Add Device.

At the new window, just paste the ID code and pick whatever folders you have set up that you want to share and then click Save.

Now, go back to your other system and there will be a “Sync” folder pop-up in the app. All you need to do is just to click Add.

With this, you can go back to your Steam Deck and you can see that the files are there.
