Sons of the Forest is an open-world survival horror title that puts you in the middle of a remote island surrounded by cannibals. Your mission is to survive till the end and utilize all the resources at your disposal as you try to look for your missing billionaire friend. Lighting a fire is important if you want to lurk outside in the dark or just cook some delicious food.
This guide will tell you how to make a fire in Sons of the Forest.
How To Make a Fire
In order to create some fire, you will primarily require two things: 2 sticks and a lighter. These items are pretty easy to find as sticks can be obtained by chopping down trees and bushes in your vicinity.
As for the lighter, it is a key element for your survival and you will receive it at the beginning of the game as part of the emergency pack. It can be really useful for seeing in the dark as well as burning enemies such as Mutants and Savages.
After you manage to collect the required materials, press the I button to open up the inventory and select the stick to equip it in your hands. Look towards the ground and press the left click to break down the stick into different pieces and put them onto the ground.
Next, you need to equip your lighter and use it to light up the pieces of wood on the ground. Hold E to torch the sticks and set them on fire. You can also add some dry leaves or rotten meat to increase the spread of the fire.
You can now use this fire to see in the dark or cook some delicious food for your survival. The game also allows you to cook multiple items at once so you don’t need too long if you are hungry.
Apart from this, you can also reinforce the fire by placing a few stones around it from all sides. This will ensure that the fire burns longer and doesn’t spread too far making the overall process of cooking easier. Make sure to maintain your distance from it otherwise, you will end up hurting yourself.
That’s it, now go ahead and grab some sticks to start a fire in the game!
