Click here to find out how much coal is required for a coal generator in Satisfactory!

There are many different types of machines that you can use in Satisfactory that can be used to generate power and one of them is the Coal Generator machine. In this guide, we will tell you how much coal does a coal generator use in the game.

Satisfactory: How Much Coal Does a Coal Generator Use

The coal generator as the name suggests uses coal in order to generate power and is one of the first power sources to use a mined resource. It burns coal, compacted coal or petroleum coke and water to generate energy.

At 100% utilization, these coal generators will consume 11.4 coals per minute and at 50% power, they will consume around 5.7 coal per minute. These generators only burn their fuel as per the power demand so if you are at 70% capacity then the coal will be burned at 70% speed in the game.

The Coal burn time is around 4 seconds which means that a single coal generator will consume 15 coal per minute. If you are using Compacted Coal then the burn time is 8.4 seconds meaning that you will need 7.143 coal per minute whereas, for Petroleum Coke, the burn time is 2.4 seconds meaning that you will need 25 coke per minute.

You can these formulas are given below to calculate the number of coal generators required

Coal generator = Coal mining rate / 15

For estimating the number of required Water Extractors, use this formula:

Water extractor = Coal generator / 2.6666

For calculating the number of pipelines for water supply, use this formula:

Pipelines required = Coal generator / 6.6666

That’s it, now go ahead and use these coal generators to generate power in the game!
