Marvel’s Avengers Delisted from Steam: Updates & Details

August 28, 2023
Exciting times for Marvel's Avengers fans, but not in a good way.

Earth’s mightiest heroes, the Avengers, and a video game based on them were released two and a half years ago and are being delisted in September 2023. Avenger enthusiasts must have beautiful memories of the game, but Crystal Dynamics suggests they will stop any further development. Crystals say the move comes with their partners, and no additional support will be available for the game after September 30.

The Avengers video game will not be available for purchase after September. However, players can enjoy single-player and multiplayer modes, which will be available even after the support ends. The game will not receive any new stories, heroes, features, and updates after the 2.7 update. The 2.7 update saw the addition of Winter Soldier and Cloning Lab Omega-Level Threat, which will be the final content released by the company.

More about Marvel’s Avengers delist

Marvel’s Avengers was released in 2020, developed by Crystal Dynamics, and first published by Square Enix Europe. The game, played from a third-point perspective, allows both single-player and multiplayer modes, with players being able to form a team of heroes. The video game received a mixed reaction upon release, and the Avengers kept losing fans ever since. The developers tried to keep fans interested with new characters and content, but the game stayed on track.

Crystal Dynamics introduced the 2.8 updates to maintain the Market Place, Challenge Card, and Shipment Cosmetics changes. They also suggest that all the players remaining credits be converted into in-game resources. Avengers enthusiasts will be able to enjoy a free supply of cosmetics even after the game’s updates halt this September. The company has also informed fans that it will not provide technical assistance after September 30.

Marvel’s Avengers Unclear Future after September

Marvel Avengers enthusiasts willing to play the game even after discontinuing any future updates and support have a few things to remember. To this date, fans log in to the game’s servers to play the game. The process is also the same for other single-player content like Marvel’s Avengers War; this server will be open after September 30.

However, Crystal Dynamics suggests they will not address any problems that may arise following the delisting. For now, one can enjoy the game in single-player and multiplayer modes. What lies ahead for the game needs to be clarified.
