Marvel Snap, the debut title from the new studio founded by former Hearthstone developers, Second Dinner, is now out of closed beta and is now available to play on either PC or mobile phones. Seeing that it is still a new game, it is understandable for some players to get lost in some of the game’s aspects, such as the card combos they should run at the start of the game to get ahead of the game.
In this guide, we will be showing you some of the early deck builds you can easily use while you are still getting the hang of the game.
Best Early Card Combos – Marvel Snap
There are several consistent decks you can construct from the first two Pools in the Collection Level of Marvel Snap. Below are by far the most solid decks from Pools 1 and 2.
Not only are they easy to use, but they are also a good way to familiarize yourself with the many elements of the game. Here they are:
Ka-Zoo Deck
The Ka-Zoo deck was perhaps the most used deck in the beta days of Marvel Snap, and while some of its strengths have been nerfed, it’s still one of the strongest decks to play, especially in the early game.
- Nightcrawler
- Ant-Man
- Elektra
- Squirrel Girl
- Korg
- Yondu
- Angela
- Bishop
- Kazar
- Blue Marvel
- Onslaught
- America Chavez
The idea behind the construction of the Ka-Zoo deck is to have as many 1-drops as you can, with the other core cards there to support them.
Angela is the card that you should prioritize putting on an empty lane as soon as possible. This is because she gains +2 power for each card you drop in that lane afterward. She synergizes very well with Nightcrawler.
Kazar and Blue Marvel should then serve as the primary enablers for this deck. The former will gives your 1-cost cards one additional power while the latter gives ‘all’ your cards one additional power across the board.
Apocalypse Discard
The Apocalypse Discard deck build is for those that aren’t afraid to leave their chances of winning to RNG as long as they are having the most fun.
This deck is all about discarding cards that have discard effects, such as the powerful Apocalypse, which gets stronger every time you discard him.
- Blade
- Nightcrawler
- Korg
- Ant-Man
- Elektra
- Yondu
- Angela
- Lady Sif
- Wolverine
- Sword Master
- Apocalypse
- America Chavez
Your main discard cards here are Sword Master, Lady Sif, and Blade. Lady Sif will always discard the highest-cost card in your hand, making her an ideal combo piece with this deck’s star, Apocalypse.
Blade and Sword Master, meanwhile, can discard a random card. It is best to save them until you have cards such as Apocalypse and Wolverine in your hand.
That is basically it, just always find the chance to discard Apocalypse and let him return to your hand more powerful than before. As you may see, how effective this deck build is significantly depends on how lucky you draw. Nevertheless, playing it is a ton of fun.
Spectrum Ongoing
While the previous deck build relies on discards, this one relies heavily on Ongoing abilities, before finishing off with a turn 6 Spectrum, which gives all your Ongoing cards +2 power. There are several truly powerful Ongoing cards in the first two pools of the game, such as Iron Man.
- Ant-Man
- Nightcrawler
- Korg
- Armor
- Captain America
- Mr Fantastic
- The Punisher
- Kazar
- Namor
- Iron Man
- Klaw
- Spectrum
Iron Man is often seen as a win condition on his own, as he straight-up doubles the power of any of your lanes. Klaw and Mr. Fantastic would then help to push that power in multiple lanes.
Namor is also a really solid card; he gets set at 10 power if he’s alone in a given lane. That alone is tough to overcome, especially in the early Collection Levels.
Onslaught is also an ideal card to play on this deck as it helps buff your existing Ongoing abilities, just in case you don’t get the chance to draw Spectrum.
That is our choice for the best deck combinations in the early game. Keep in mind that this game promotes experimentation, so do not be afraid to spend hours thinking of the best combinations with the cards you have.
