Ghost Recon Wildlands is an open-world tactical military shooter that puts you in the shoes of Nomad, the leader of a special task force group assigned to take down the Bolivian cartel. The game can be played single-player or online with upto 3 other players in a team as you explore the beautiful landscapes of Bolivia.
It also has an online PvP mode called Ghost War where you can fight against other players in 4 v 4 groups. Since multiplayer is a crucial aspect of the game, many players often wonder whether they can enjoy it with their friends playing on other platforms.
This guide will tell you whether Ghost Recon Wildlands supports crossplay or not.
Is Ghost Recon Wildlands Crossplay (Answered)
Unfortunately, the answer is no as the game does not feature crossplay support meaning that you won’t be able to team up with your friends on other platforms like Xbox or Playstation.
According to a FAQ article posted by developer Ubisoft, there is no support for crossplay as of now.
While the game should be an ideal candidate for such a feature as crossplay support not only makes the game more enjoyable with friends but also increases the total player base as new players try it for the first time.
It also makes the game more competitive and removes the virtual barriers that restrict players from participating in lobbies of players using other platforms.
Currently, Ghost Recon Wildlands is available across a wide range of platforms which include PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, Amazon Luna and the now-defunct Google Stadia.
PC players can download the game from Ubisoft Connect, Steam, Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Game Pass service which is also available to Xbox users.
Since the support for the game ended a long while ago with the developer releasing its sequel Ghost Recon Breakpoint, it will be futile to expect any updates that add support for cross-play in the future.
We can only hope that future titles from Ubisoft include this feature so players can enjoy it with their friends irrespective of the platform that they are using.
