Handheld consoles like the Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch have become quite popular in the gaming community and it’s only natural for players to expect a port of their favourite game on these devices.
There has been a lot of chatter in the Diablo IV community recently about whether the game could be ported to Nintendo’s handheld console given the fact the previous Diablo games have been released on the Switch.
This guide will tell you whether Diablo IV is coming to the Nintendo Switch.
Is Diablo 4 coming to Nintendo Switch? [Answered]

Unfortunately, the answer is no as there has been no confirmation from Blizzard about a potential release on the Nintendo Switch. However, since previous Diablo games have been released on the Switch, there is a potential chance of Diablo IV being released in the future.
The last Diablo games to arrive on the Switch were Diablo 3 and Diablo 2: Resurrected which were launched in 2018 and 2021 respectively. Diablo 2: Resurrected was a remastered version of the original game while Diablo 3 was a port that arrived six years after the release of the title on other platforms.

Any release of Diablo IV on the switch would require a major overhaul of the game to make it work on the limited processing power of the console. The game also needs a constant internet connection to play which negates the convenience of playing anywhere that the Switch offers.
Although more visually demanding games like Doom Eternal and Bioshock Infinite have landed on the Switch, there has been a significant reduction in their graphics quality and various changes to gameplay to optimize them for a smoother experience.
Given Diablo IV’s improved graphics and gameplay changes, it is expected to take a while for the developer to work on a Switch release for the title. While there has been no official news about a Switch release, the game is confirmed to be available for PC, PlayStation and Xbox consoles with a launch slated for June 6 2023.
