Spiderman Remastered has finally arrived on PC with improved graphics and unlocked frame rate support. While the game looks really beautiful especially when you turn on visual effects such as Ray Tracing, it still suffers from some poor optimization and frame rate issues. This can ruin your gameplay experience if you decide to enjoy the game on low-end or entry-level hardware.

This guide will tell you how to fix low FPS drop issues in Spiderman Remastered

How to Fix Marvel’s Spider Man Remastered LOW FPS Drop

1. Lower the graphic settings

If you are facing performance-related issues such as FPS drops and stutters then it’s highly recommended that you lower the graphics settings of the game so it runs well on your computer especially if you are having older or entry-level hardware.

Launch the game and then click on the Settings option and select the Graphics tab above. Here you can turn off options like Ray Tracing, and V-Sync while reducing options such as Crowd and Traffic Density.

2. Disable SMT, Hyperthreading and REBAR in your BIOS.

The next thing that you can do is to disable Hyperthreading or SMT/HT in your BIOS as many players have claimed that this has worked for them and fixed the FPS drop issue.

Restart your computer and then go to the BIOS settings and then find SMT (for AMD processors) or HT (for Intel processors) to turn it off. You can also turn off other options such as Hyperthreading and REBAR to check whether there is an improvement in the performance.

3. Disable Full-screen optimization for the game

You need to disable the full-screen optimization option for the game and to do this, you need to open the directory where the game is installed.

If have purchased Spiderman on Steam then simply right-click on it and click on Properties to select the Browse local files option to open the game’s installation folder.

Now right-click on the game’s exe file and select the Properties option from the list. Now navigate to the Compatibility tab and check the Disable Full-Screen optimization option.

Click on Apply then OK to save the changes.

The next thing that you need to do is to open the game and go to Settings to change the Window mode to the Exclusive Fullscreen option.

You can now launch the game and check whether the performance has improved or not.

4. Disable Steam Overlay

Open Steam and right-click on Marvel’s Spiderman Remastered in your library to select the Properties option from the list.

In the General tab, uncheck the “Enable Steam Overlay while in-game” option. This will disable the Steam overlay while you are playing the game.

Make sure to disable other overlay applications running in the background such as Discord and Geforce Experience which can consume a lot of system resources.

5. Use a wired controller or keyboard and mouse

If you are using wireless devices such as a controller or mouse and keyboard then you can try to switch to their wired alternatives as wireless devices often suffer from latency issues.

This will potentially fix any lag or input delay that you are facing with the game.

6. Perform a clean installation of the graphic drivers

If you are running an old version of your graphic’s driver then it’s highly recommended that you update it to the latest version available by performing a clean install.

This will fix any potential issues such as FPS drops or stutters that you are facing in the game.

To download the latest version of your graphics drivers, simply head over to Nvidia’s website if you have a GTX or RTX GPU or visit AMD’s website if you are using a Radeon GPU.

Select your graphic card from the list and then click on submit to download the latest driver available.

Double click on the installer and tick the “Perform a clean installation” option to install the latest version.

Restart your computer and then launch the game to check whether there is an improvement in the performance.

7. Run the game on dedicated graphics

Modern laptops and computers have processors that come with their integrated graphics and often games utilize these integrated graphics instead of the dedicated one that reduces the overall performance.

To fix, type graphic settings in the Windows search bar and then double-click to open it.

Click on the Browse button and then navigate to the directory where the game is installed and select Spider-Man.exe to add it to the list.

Once the game is added, select it from the list and then click on the Options button.

Now click on the High-Performance toggle and press Save.

8. Verify the game files on Steam

Open Steam on your computer and then right-click on Marvel’s Spiderman Remastered in your game library.

Select the Properties option from the list and then navigate to the local files tab to click on the Verify Integrity of game files option.

9. Update your Windows to the latest version

Running an outdated version of Windows can often cause performance issues and it’s highly recommended that you stick to the latest version when it gets released.

To fix this, go to the start menu and then click on Settings to select the Update & Security option. Now click the Check for Updates button and Windows will automatically update your computer if there is a new version available.

10. Disable overclocking and undervolting of your hardware

PC Enthusiasts often like to overclock their processor or graphics card to get the maximum performance possible but sometimes this can cause some issues such as stutters or frame drops in games.

So if you have overclocked your processor then you will need to revert it to the stock frequency from the BIOS and if you have undervolted your GPU then you will need to MSI Afterburner to switch back to the stock frequency.

That’s it, these are all the possible troubleshooting methods that you can use to fix FPS drops and stutters in the game!
