The Merlin Trials are interesting challenges which you need to complete if you want to increase the inventory space in Hogwarts Legacy. Each Merlin trial is different and will require you to complete a series of events.

All 4 Marunweem Lake Merlin Trial Puzzles
Marunweem Lake Merlin Trial Puzzle 1
This first Merlin Trial puzzle is located on the east side of the area.
Once you’ve made it there, you will need to activate the trial and mess around with the stone blocks that have symbols engraved in them.
The job here is for you to set up the symbols to be in the same order as the stones below the movable ones.
After the two pillars have been successfully solved and have the same symbols aligned together, you will complete this Merlin Trial puzzle.
Marunweem Lake Merlin Trial Puzzle 2
Go west from the previous location where you will find the next merlin trial.
Upon activating this trial, we recommend you using the Revelio spell to reveal the location of the giant stone ball and the hole where the ball needs to go.
Whenever you’ve found the ball (On a upper level of a ruin), you will need to use your Wingardium Leviosa spell to guide the ball to the correct area.
After you’ve brought the ball to the hole, the Merlin Trial will be completed.
Marunweem Lake Merlin Trial Puzzle 3
From the central part of the area, you will need to go only a bit south to locate this next Merlin Trial Puzzle.
After activating this trial, you will see stone blocks into the water in which you need to step on so vines can cover them up.
Note that one stone block is hidden under a barrel that is sitting on the water. Break the barrel there to reveal the hidden block.
Marunweem Lake Merlin Trial Puzzle 4
This Merlin Trial puzzle is located just south from the previous one.
Once you get there, activate the trial and you will notice three stones with holes inside. There holes need to be filled with magical glowing moths for your trial to be completed.
Use the Lumos spell and attract the nearby moths and drag them to the stone blocks to complete this final Merlin Trial.
