In order to use it, head over to an area with a lot of trees such as the area near Qince Village in the Sumeru region.
You will need to search for trees that normally give you wood and then find a spot that is not too far from the tree that you wish to extract the wood from.
The Boon of the Elder Tree can also be used in other regions besides Sumeru however you cannot use it while you are active in combat.
