Genshin Impact has recently received a 3.1 update called “King Deshret and the Three Magi” that adds plenty of new content in the Sumeru region. It adds new areas, weapons, characters and quests for players to enjoy.
While exploring the new desert area, you will come across various domains in the Sumeru region such as the Red Desert Threshold, Garden of Endless Pillars and the Altar of Mirage. These domains need to be unlocked before you can access them.
This guide will tell you how to unlock all the desert domains in the Sumeru region.
How To Unlock All Sumeru 3.1 Domains – Genshin Impact
There are two domains located in the Hypostyle Desert: Garden of Pillars and Red Desert Threshold both of them require different methods to unlock them. To unlock the Garden of Pillars quest, you will need to solve the Red Desert Threshold needs you to complete quest.
How to unlock Garden of Pillars.
In order to unlock the Garden of Endless Pillars, need to head over to the Garden of Endless Pillars which is located north of The Mausoleum of King Deshret in the Hypostyle Desert.
There are a total of 5 Totems that you need to light up in the correct order to solve the puzzle. These Totems are surrounded by flowers that indicate the order starting from zero to a maximum of four.
You will need to light these totems using a Pyro character based on the number of flowers each Totem has next to it.
The first Totem with zero flowers can be found on your right.
Proceed straight ahead into the corner on your right and then climb the stone pillar.
You will find the 2nd Totem here surrounded by 1 flower.
The 3rd Totem with 2 flowers can be found next to the wall that can be found heading straight.
Head into the centre of the area to find the 4th Totem surrounded by 3 flowers.
Last but not least is the 5th Totem which can be found next to the large stone pillar.
After you have solved the puzzle, the entrance to the domain will be revealed and you will be able to access the domain by interacting with the door.
How to unlock the Red Desert Threshold Domain
First, you need to head over to the above location in the Aaru Village located in the Lands of Lower Setekh on the map.
Once you reach there, talk to a merchant called Bonifaz to start the Golden Slumber sidequest.
After talking to him, you will need to start the Lost in the Sands quest which is a part of the Golden Slumber questline.
Follow the markers until you reach the entrance to the Red Threshold Domain.
At the end of the marker trail, you will reach a large pit that you need to enter and search for clues.
Glide your way inside and head towards the right where the large door is located.
This is the entrance to the Red Desert Threshold Domain.
Interact with the door to unlock the Red Desert Threshold Domain.
You don’t need to complete any puzzle or complete other quests to unlock the door.
How to unlock the Altar of Mirage Domain
First, you need to head over to the Aaru Village in the Hypostyle desert in the Sumeru region
Talk to the merchant called Bonifaz there to start the Golden Slumber questline.
You will need to complete this questline to get the required clearance level for the Scarlet Sand Slate which will allow you to access the domain.
Once you have completed this quest line, head over to the Khemenu Temple waypoint to find the entrance to the domain.
After entering the temple, go straight until you reach the main hall.
In the main hall, open the door on your right to reach the next room.
Be careful of the enemies in this room and then open the door on the right.
Head down into the hole in the middle of the corridor, glide gently and don’t go all the way in.
Look behind and you will find the entrance to the domain.
Interact with the door and you will be able to enter the Altar of Mirage domain.
That’s it, you have now successfully found all the domains in the new desert area!
