While I’m not one to play games in a borderless window, I do know that there are a lot of players which prefer it over the regular Fullscreen mode. There is a big issue though. If you’ve been playing Genshin for a while, you might already be aware that there’s no borderless window option for this game. While it may sound bizarre for a game not to have that in 2021, we do have a couple of methods to go around this issue.
Run Genshin Impact In Borderless Window
There are a couple of methods that players can run Genshin in a windowed mode. One of them is by using Steam, and it’s guaranteed to work. The other is by making the game windowed through the actual system.
As it is kind of bizarre not to have this feature in a game, I suspect that there’ll be some sort of a patch for this in the future, I hope. In the meantime, try the first and easiest method to run Genshin Impact in borderless mode:
- Exit Genshin if you have it opened.
- Launch it again.
- Wait for it to boot up and hit ALT + Enter.
This is basically Windows’ shortcut to switch between Fullscreen and borderless windows. In some cases, though, it might not work. If that’s the case, you’ll need to have Steam for the second method:
- Launch Steam.
- Press “Add A Game”.
- Hit “Add A Non-Steam Game”.
- Then, press Browse, find and select Genshin Impact’s executable file after that.
- While in your Steam Library, right-click Genshin and press Properties.
- Go to Launch Options and then type the following commands in the text input: “-popupwindow”.
- Hit OK.
After that, make sure to try Genshin and see if it launches itself in a borderless window. It is highly unlikely that it doesn’t but in the event that this happens, go back to launch options and see if the command has a typo.
The launch options input field is case-sensitive, so be careful of capitalized letters as well.
