Farming Simulator 22 as the name suggests allows players to play as a farmer and take care of their own farm by performing various agricultural activities like harvesting crops and looking after the livestock while facing the different challenges.

The game allows players to install mods so they can further customize their experience by adding new vehicles, buildings, farming machinery and other objects.

In this guide, we will tell how to download and install mods in Farming Simulator 22

Farming Simulator 22: How to Install Mods

There are two different ways through which you can install mods in the game. The easiest and simplest way is to use the in-game mod hub.

To access it, launch the game and then click on the downloadable content in the main menu.

You will see a list of all the available mods that you can install from the official mod hub. These mods have been checked by the developer for a basic level of quality and function so you will be able to use them without having to worry about facing issues in the game.

There are plenty of filters available to help you sort the mods such as type of equipment, most downloaded, best mods, most recent and recommended mods to help you find the mods of your choice.

After you find a mod that you like, simply click on install and it will download it to your machine.

You can check the status of your current mod download by accessing the downloads tab.

Once they are done downloading, go back to the home screen and click yes to restart the game. Do note that every time you install a new mod, you will be required to restart the game for them to be recognized.

Now when you open the game and load your save file, a new screen will appear allowing you to activate the newly installed mod in the game. Just tick the box next to the mod and you will be able to use them in your save. Once you save the game after activating these mods, they will be active by default the next time.

After loading the save, you will find these new mods in their relevant categories in the game’s shop. Do note that mods are always shown at the end of the list for their respective categories regardless of their price, horsepower or other specifications.

If you are on PC then you also have the option of downloading mods from the game’s mod hub website or third party sites. You will need to add these mods directly to the mod folder located in your game’s directory.

Usually, you will find mods on third party websites that are unavailable on the game’s mod hub because they contain brands that the developers don’t have licenses for. Be careful of the websites that you download mods from as they have a chance of containing viruses or other malicious software.

Some recommended websites are Nexus Mods, King Mods and Yes Mods as they are reliable websites which are safe to install mods from. There are also many modders on Facebook who will share a direct link to their mods allowing you to download them easily. However, make sure that the modder you are downloading from is a reliable one.

After you have downloaded the file, you will need to find the mods folder for Farming Simulator 2022 which can be usually found in: This PC\Documents\My Games\FarmingSimulator2022\mods on Windows 10 and Library/Application Support/FarmingSimulator2022/mods for macOS.

If you are using the Appstore version of the game then you will find the folder here: ~/Library/Containers/com.focus-home.farmingsim22/Data/Library/Application Support/FarmingSimulator22/mods

Move the entire zip file for the downloaded mod to the directory mentioned above. It is important that you do not unzip these files after moving them as the game requires them to stay as a zip to read them correctly.

Once you have the mod in your mods folder, launch the game and open the save game to check whether it is getting recognized by the game. You can activate it by ticking the checkbox below it.

Sometimes it is a good idea to remove mods from a saved game if you are facing problems with a mod or if you longer wish to use it anymore.

To deactivate a mod, simply untick the box next to the mod when loading your save file and it won’t be active anymore. You will need to save your game so it can remember that the mod is no longer activated

If you add some mods and notice that your game is not working properly then try removing the recently added mods one by one to see if the problem gets fixed. This will allow you to find out which mod is responsible for causing the issue.

That’s it, now go ahead and enhance your gameplay experience by installing mods in Farming Simulator 22!
