Canola is a type of grain that you will find in the game and can be harvested with a combine harvester and a grain header. It’s a bit of a complex grain if you don’t know how to take care of it.
In today’s guide, we are going to show you How To Grow, Harvest, and Sell Canola in Farming Simulator 22!
How To Grow, Harvest And Sell Canola in Farming Simulator 22
Basically, before your canola starts to grow, you will have to plant it and then continue with the process of growing. For this, you are going to need a light tractor and cultivator or seeder with a cultivator.
The growing process of canola is the most important thing, because if you don’t fertilize the field enough and don’t care of it properly, your final product will be really bad, and all the job you did will be worthless.
Starting with fertilizing, there are a few machines, fertilizer spreaders that you can use in the field.
They are different price and all of them has different specifications for fertilizing.
All you need to do is to get into your tractor with the fertilizer and start driving on the field.
While you are on the field, press “B” on your keyboard and the fertilizer will star spraying around the field.
The next step is mulching. You can find them in the tools menu and there are plenty of them to buy.
They are also different in price and the specifications for mulching the field.
In order to use it, just lower it on and start driving your tractor across the field.
Once you are done with mulching, the next step is the plow.
Unfortunately, don’t use the plows, because the subsoilers are much better for the same job.
When you open your map, and you see a red field, it means that has to be plowed. Like the other machines, get it attached to your tractor, and start driving across the field.
After the plowing, there might be some stones on the field, and you should use stone pickers to remove the stones. Actually, this step is up to you, and doesn’t need to be done all of the time, because it won’t affect the percentage of your yield bonus.
If there are stones, you can see on the field on your map full with yellow dots.
For the seeding process, you will need a seeder, which can be bought in the tools. There are plenty of them and, depending on their specifications, the price can vary.
These machines are used to seed crops like wheat, barley or canola. Additionally, the seeder offers the possibility to seed directly, without previous cultivating or plowing.
After you are done with the seeder, the next machine that you need to use is the roller.
With a roller, you can improve the upper soil layer quality of your fields.
The next step is weeding. You can see the green color on the map of your field which means that it needs weeding.
Weeders pull out small-grown weeds between crops, improving the field’s state. They can only be used in the first growing stages of crops.
Once you are done with all the steps that we mentioned above, your canola field is ready for harvesting.
In the vehicle menu, you can find and buy plenty of types of harvesters. These machines can harvest the indicated crop types. For the harvester to work, it also needs a suitable header.
You must buy a header that can harvest canola. It is recommended to get the wider one.
After harvesting all of the canola, there are only two places that you can use it. First, you can use it as food for your pigs because it counts as a grain crop, and second, you can take it to the oil mill.
If you don’t have an oil mill, you can simply build one or just find it around because every town has it.
Inside the oil mill, you can either click on storing it, or you can have it sell automatically, or distribute to where you need to go next.
You can select the best places where you can sell the canola oil, depending on the period of the year and in which town you are selling it.
