Elden Ring: How to find the Save Location

Make sure not to lose your save progress in Elder Ring. If you are a player on a PC, you may have to know where is located your Elden Ring save file location. Due to the many reports lately, from the players, about the recent patch, they are losing their saved game progress for a few hours or more.

This could be so disappointing after you have spent some good time playing and defeating some challenging bosses, but after that, it’s all gone.

It is pretty easy to find your Elden Ring Save Location. It is always in the same location by default.

  • C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\EldenRing

Once you are there, you will see a folder with a bunch of random numbers. That file number is actually your 64bit SteamID. Open that folder and you should see two identical files that end in .sl2.

The two identical files inside the folder, are actually your save files.

If you can’t get to your save location through the given steps above, then maybe you have to reveal hidden folders.

Once you have access to the save file, after you are done playing, save your game and copy your save file, then paste it into a Backup folder that you can use to backup your save progress if anything gets corrupted.
