The Season of the Haunted update in Destiny 2 brings plenty of changes such as new and reworked weapons to the game. In this guide, we will tell you how to obtain the Calus Mini Tool Submachine gun in the game.
The Calus Mini Tool is a legendary energy submachine gun belonging to the Opulent weapon set with great handling and power. It has the MIDA Synergy Archetype that allows players to move faster when the MIDA Multi-Tool Exotic is equipped. Players who have the Exotic Scout rifle equipped will also benefit from a further improvement in the movement speed.
Thanks to its lightweight nature, you will be able to move quickly even when the exotic is not equipped. It can also deal solar damage to enemies allowing you to set your enemies on fire and also making it a great choice for Solar 3.0 builds.
The submachine has the following stats:
- Reload Speed-31
- Rounds Per Minute-900
- Magazine Size-37
In order to obtain the Calus Mini Tool, you will need to find and open chests scattered across Derelict Leviathan. You will need an Opulent key to open the Opulent chest which can be obtained by opening loot chests on Derelict Leviathan or by completing Nightmare containment activities.
After you get your hands on an Opulent key, you will need to inspect the key to get a clue to know about the location of the Opulent Chest. Each player will get a different clue that will lead them towards a different location on Derelict Leviathan.
These Opulent Chests contain a total of 4 possible rewards: Austringer Hand Cannon, Beloved Sniper, Calus Mini Tool Submachine gun and Drang Sidearm. So you might need to keep collecting the keys to open these Opulent chests until you manage to collect the Calus Mini-Tool.
Alternatively, you can also craft the Calus Mini Tool just like other Opulent weapons by completing the five Deepsight Resonance extractions. You can use the Crown of Sorrow to improve your chances of getting a Deepsight Resonance weapon when you open the Opulent chest for the first time
Some of the perks that you can opt for PvE mode are Arrowhead Brake, Tactical Mag, Threat Detector and Surrounded.
Arrowhead Brake can help in controlling recoil and improving the handling speed whereas Tactical Mag brings improvement to stability, reload speed and increases magazine size.
Threat Detector can help players by enhancing the reload speed, stability and handling if enemies are present nearby while Surrounded can help you gain bonus damage if you are surrounded by groups of enemies.
If you are more interested in PvP combat then opting for Corkscrew Rifling, Accurized Rounds, Moving Targets and Incandescent can be a great choice.
Corkscrew Rifling can improve the range, stability and handling speed of the weapon whereas Accurized Rounds can help in enhancing the range. Moving Target helps by improving the movement speed and allowing you to switch to aim down sights faster when moving.
Finally, Incandescent is a new perk that sets other enemies in proximity on fire when you defeat an enemy.
That’s it, now go ahead and grab the Calus Mini Tool submachine gun in Destiny 2!
