Destiny 2: How to get Austringer (Season of the Haunted)

The seventeenth season has arrived in Destiny 2 named Season of the Haunted. The season features a continuation of the story, a new map, a new dungeon, and a variety of new weapons to select from. Austringer is one of these weapons that has seen its return to the world of Destiny 2 after a long time.

To get your hands on this phenomenal weapon in the Season of the Haunting, players will need to unlock Opulent Chests in the Derelict Leviathan.

These can be unlocked using Opulent Keys that we will discuss in a bit. The Chests feature four weapons that are Drang Sidearm, Beloved Sniper, Calus Mini Tool Submachine Gun, and Austringer Hand Cannon.

These Opulent Chests can be found all across the Leviathan. To get yourself an Opulent Key, you need to search the loot chests spread all across Derelict Leviathan and they can also be given during the Nightmare Containment Activity. But you can’t open any Opulent Chest with any Opulent Key.

Whenever you get a certain Key, it is already dedicated to unlocking a specific chest. Head over to your inventory and click on the key. In the description, you will see some information about where to find the chest. First, it will tell you the general area where you need to go and then a clue of the exact location.

If you’re lucky, you will get Austringer out of the four weapons in the Opulent Chest that you unlock. Similarly, you can keep doing this to get yourself even more weapons. This is not the only way to get Austringer in the game currently. It can also be crafted.

Although to craft the weapon, you will need its Pattern. When you get something from an Opulent Chest, there is a chance of you getting a special weapon signified by a red border around it. If you get this, you can use the weapon to upgrade it and extract the Resonant Element.

This Resonant Element provides you with some progress on getting the pattern. There are ways you can speed up this process but those are unlocked later in the game so it isn’t for you if you’re still somewhat new.

Since the removal of Palindrome from the game, Aunstringer has pretty much become the hand cannon that everyone desires to acquire. The weapon is overall very reliable and easy to use. Apart from that, its design also looks very catchy and pleasing to the eye.

As for the stats, Austringer features 84 points in Impact, 51 in Range, 64 in Stability, 52 in Handling, and 48 in Reload Speed. These can be changed depending on the perks you roll with the weapon. It can be a great weapon for PvE if you can roll Ricochet Rounds and Rampage on your gun.

When it comes to PvP, Austringer can be a great choice on that front as well. The best perks for PvP are High-Caliber Rounds, Air Assault, and Opening Shot. These perks provide an increased range, airborne effectiveness, and more accuracy and range for the opening shot respectively.

The gun has 140 rounds per minute and 11 bullets in one magazine.
