Conan Exiles is an online multiplayer survival game where players can build their own kingdom and fight against other players in an open-world environment. You will need to loot dungeons full of loot, survive through extreme temperatures and develop your character to become a mighty barbarian.
Composite Obsidian as the name suggests is required for crafting Obsidian weapons in the game. They are the second-best weapons next to the legendary ones and finding Composite Obsidian is much easier than the rare Star Metal ore. However, you will need to find Obsidian Bars which can only be found near volcanos.

How To Make Composite Obsidian Bar – Conan Exiles
Obsidian weapons are certainly the most powerful weapons that you can get apart from the legendary ones however you cannot simply craft Obsidian in a regular furnace. In order to create a Composite Obsidian, you will need the following ingredients:
- 10 Obsidian
- 1 Steel Ingots
While Steel Ingots can be easily crafted by using Iron Ingots and Steel Fire in the furnace, finding Obsidian is a bit of a challenge. In order to mine Obsidian, you will need to find a volcano. Thankfully, this is the same place where we will be crafting the Composite Obsidian.
In order to craft the Composite Obsidian, head over to the Volcanic Forge located in the Exiled Lands.
This volcano is located at the top of the map and once you reach there, you will find Obsidian in the lower area of the volcano where the lava is flowing.
For the Volcanic Forge, you will need to head over to the Well of Skelos where you will find the forge emitting a bright blue light.
Interact with the forge and select the Recipe for the Composite Obsidian bar.
In case you don’t have the recipe then you will defeat a boss located near the Purple pillars in the lower parts of the volcano.
Once you have defeated him, you will need to interact with the yellow broken stone to obtain the recipe for all Obsidian tools and weapons.

After getting the recipe, head back to the Volcanic Forge and simply put in the required ingredients and eat some ice to keep your temperatures normal.
In case you have the Isle of Siptah DLC then you can head over to the Forge of the First Men for crafting the Composite Obsidian bars. You can now craft Obsidian weapons by visiting the Blacksmith and choosing the weapon of your choice.
