Albion Online is a free medieval fantasy MMORPG game where players can grow their wealth, forge alliances and explore the world to engage in intense PvP combat. This guide will tell you whether the game has a fast travel feature or not.
The world of Albion Online has plenty of continents and areas for players to explore and travelling between them can take a lot of time. New players in Albion Online frequently ask whether it is possible to travel from the wilderness back to a town or city and the answer is that there is no fast travel feature in the game.
The economy of the game is centred around resource gathering, refining and crafting. The vast majority of items available in the game from the cloak on your back to the gigantic wolf mount that you are riding are crafted by other players.
Taking inspiration from real life, different parts of the Albion’s world have different climates ranging from Forests (Wood, Stone and Hides), Highlands (Wood, Stone and Ore), Mountains(Stone, Fiber and Ore), Steppes (Hides, Fiber and Ore) to Swamps (Woods, Hides and Fiber).
Since you can’t mine metal bars and ore in a swamp, their prices may be higher in a city that is surrounded by swamps. Similarly, in a city located far away from the swamps, leather or fibers like cotton may be harder to obtain making them more valuable there.
In Albion Online, if you wish to sell the resources that you have gathered or refined then you will need to physically travel to the marketplace. So if you could use a magic portal to fast travel from one area to another then no resource would be scarce in any city and their value would same everywhere in the game’s world. This is why there is no fast travel feature present for players.
However, if you wish to travel quickly then you spend a lot of silver and use the Travel Planner NPC to travel instantly from one major city to another. However, the fees are high enough that you won’t be left with much silver this way.
The only way to fast travel from the wilderness to a town is to die and drop everything that you carry. This includes your weapons, armour, mount and all the other items in your inventory except the silver or gold.
