Should You Get More HP or Resist in Across the Obelisk

In Across the Obelisk, you have two things that affect the amount of damage that you take. There are hit points and resistances

Every hero starts with around zero to 25 of each resistance depending on the character. However, every character has a resistance that starts at zero.

With the baseline resistances of zero, the hit points like 100 damage will kill 100 hit point on a hero like Magnus. If you increase the resistance, it will take more damage to kill him.

The biggest ways to add resistance to your character are the items or buffs like Reinforce which basically have a baseline of 30% resist or you can bump that up to 35%.

When you get to a point should you get hit points or resistances, if you have no resistances to begin with, and you don’t have anything buffing your resistance, then four hit point perk is more beneficial to you than two resistances perk.

But the more resistances you get, the more impactful resistance becomes. Also, the same thing with hit points, the more hit points you get the more impactful resistances to become.

Resistances are better than HP, because it also indirectly improves all healing. If you take 20% less damage, you have to heal approximately 20% less.

In the early game, hit points will do you better for surviving a single hit, but as the game progresses, resistance becomes more and more important. As long as you are not getting one shot in Act 1, go for resistances.
