Your job is to create the most effective deck for each of your character classes.

In a card game like Across the Obelisk, all of the cards can have the same power if you know how and when to use them.

The first and most important thing before you start creating your deckbuilding is to enable the Tooltip option from the game Settings. With this option enabled you will be able to understand the effects of each card much easier as you are progressing through the game.

Speed & Character Order

You must keep in mind that the turns of the monsters/heroes always depend on the characteristics of speed. It will set the turn order for each symbol used on the field, and the first character with the highest speed will have the priority to set the game for the battle.

This method is highly recommended when you are building your deck. Always use cards that slow down opponents such as Rupture or Shrill Howl for your fighters, because they will slow your enemies while the scouts or mages are ready to deal damage with their buffs or status effects.

There are few tips that you need to follow in order to make your deck more efficient.

  • Prioritize fast-moving cards.
  • Build up energy to be able to deal damage or weaken enemies.
  • Keep track of every single card in the deck and in which order they play.
  • Always check the opponent’s resistances or immunities before using your card.
  • Check the default deck of any specific character before building a deck for him.
  • Try to fill the entire space of the deck with card at the beginning of the game.

There are a lot of cards that can create many different decks, but most importantly you need to stick to the few cards which you understand the most and create the best possible deck with them.

However, it is just a matter of time and you need to do a couple of tests with the other cards until fully understand how it works and how to use them properly.
