During your journey in Across the Obelisk, you will encounter plenty of cool places and nodes where you will meet interesting enemies. One such place is the Coliseum where you encounter the legendary Astarios who is the arena champion of the place.
This guide will tell you how to defeat Astarios and become the arena champion.
Astarios The Arena Champion Guide in Across The Obelisk
In order to find Astarios, you will need to visit the Coliseum node which can be found in the Velkarath Mountains.
You will need to select the [Combat] option and if you win the 1st or 2nd battle then you will face Astario in the 3rd round.

Coming to the fight itself, Astarios is a pretty challenging boss and he can be pretty tough if you lose control of the fight. His main weapon is stacking buffs and debuffs until he manages to burst you.
Another thing to watch out for is the Fury which is an aura that can increase damage by 3% per stack. If you allow him to stack it, it will easily reach 100 stacks which is a total of +300% increase in his damage and it gets even more dangerous since his aura has no maximum limit.
However, it is a double-edged sword as you can use it to your advantage at the end of the turn as he will suffer X bleed (X equal to your Fury charges). Unfortunately, this is also protected by his Endure Pain card that gives him 3 buffer auras (preventing 1 harmful effect per charge). This basically negates the effect of stacking bleed on him.
The only method to prevent his fury stacks attacks is either by using a purge card like Tabula Rasa or ending the fight early. Astarios most dangerous attack combo is Wild Charge and Furious Slash where he stacks Fury and then uses it to infuriate to double his current fury.
As he stacks up his fury, his whirlwind card will also become dangerous so you need to watch out for it too. Another thing that you need to be careful of is the Asthorhus (former arena champion) that he summons to assist him during the fight who has the same skillset as him.
After you manage to defeat him, you will be proclaimed the champion of the arena and rewarded with the Arena Champion card as well as some other rewards such as 250 Gold and 64 XP.
